Job Title: Chef de PartieReports To: Sous Chef and Executive Chef
The Chef de Partie responsibilities include:
Adhere to standardized recipes and specifications in order to maintain consistency and ensure all standards are met
Prepare and cook meals and specialty foods including dishes for guests with food allergies or intolerances
Promote professional work conducts
Ensure all kitchen team members are aware of standards and expectations
Keep overproduction and food waste to a minimum, ensures proper rotation, labeling, and storing of food in order to reduce food cost expense
Have full knowledge of current and upcoming menu items
Actively participate in training of culinary skills to junior staff and apprentices
Ensures that all food products are handled, stored, prepared and served safely in accordance with hotel and government Food Safety guidelines
Report any and all deficiencies in kitchen equipment functionality and quality of food products to Sous Chef or Executive Chef immediately
Prepare list of food products required for station for Sous Chef order and approval
Participate in banquet service for both plated service and buffets in a variety of function rooms
Responsible for supervising and direct all stations on the line in the absence of the Sous Chef and Executive Chef
Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Valid Food Handler Certificate required
Minimum 3 years cooking experience
Experience in a luxury hotel with comparable service and standards an asset
Must be proficient in both a la carte and production cooking
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Able to work flexible hours including days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required
Ability to work cohesively as part of a team, as well as independently
Reliable transportation essential
