Job Posting---Full-Time Community Support Worker-Day Program
28th Avenue Homes Ltd. is a dynamic and expanding organization, located in Vernon. We support adults with developmental disabilities within the community and in their homes. We are a 12-year CARF accredited organization.
28th Avenue Homes Ltd. offers a supportive work environment and opportunities within our day program. This is a non-union position. Hours of work are Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:00pm. We are closed all weekends and statutory holidays. 28th Avenue Homes Ltd. offers an excellent benefit package after completing a successful probationary period.
The successful candidate will:
Use positive support strategies
Demonstrate the ability to follow Behaviour Support and Safety Plans
Display time management skills and the ability to meet the needs of several clients at one time
Illustrate a high level of patience and emotional resilience
Demonstrate a non-judgmental attitude regardless of the client's needs or situation
Respect client confidentiality
Required education and qualifications:
Completion of Community Support Worker, Special Needs Worker course or equivalent.
Current First Aid (Level 1)
Class 4 Drivers licence or able to obtain
Clear Criminal Record Check
Negative TB Test
Non-Violent Crisis Intervention or equivalent
