Accounting Technician / Bookkeeper

We are seeking an &ldquoAccounting Technician/experienced Bookkeeper&rdquo to join our team for 25-30 hours per week starting October. The position is full-time+ during tax season.
Expectations of the position include:
Basic YE accounting file and corporate tax preparation
Full-Cycle bookkeeping including preparation and maintenance of government remittances/filing, managing accounts receivables, accounts payable and some basic payroll processing
Set up of client files
Completing month end, quarter end or year end close processes via bank reconciliations, GL reconciliations to CRA, and monitoring and reviewing all GL accounts to identify discrepancies, errors and material variances
Contributing to the continuous improvement of paperless work processes
Tax file preparation
The ideal candidate will possess:
A diploma or certificate in accounting or bookkeeping
A minimum of 2 years of bookkeeping experience, with preference given to those with public practice experience
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Problem-solving skills together with a high level of initiative and good judgment
Flexibility, a keen desire to learn and excellent attention to detail
In addition to intermediate skills with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint), intermediate skills and comfort with Sage 50, Quickbooks Online, TaxCycle (or similar tax software),
