Very rare collector's item! Looks and works like new. A "must-have" item for any serious collector of historical computers.
The Atari Portfolio is the world's first handheld/pocket PC. It was designed by Distributed Information Processing (DIP) from Guildford, UK. The Portfolio runs DIP-DOS, their version of an MS-DOS 2.11 compatible operating system. All data is stored in the battery-backed, internal RAM memory. There is a slot on the left side for an optional memory card.
A quarter of the Portfolio's RAM is reserved for the RAM disk. The remaining RAM is used by the following built-in applications:
Diary, Calculator, Text Editor, Worksheet (Spreadsheet), and Address Book (can dial telephone numbers by playing touch-tones through the speaker). A complete 274 page PDF user's manual can be provided. Giving it away for cheap: $550.00 (or best offer).
